Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineering Project Manager to oversee and lead projects in the water sector. This role is integral to our operations, responsible for managing the planning, execution, and successful completion of civil engineering projects for water and wastewater infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, excellent project management skills, and experience managing complex, multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning & Scheduling: Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets to meet client and organizational objectives for water-related civil engineering projects.
  • Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, regulatory bodies, subcontractors, and other stakeholders, ensuring clear communication, alignment on project goals, and proactive resolution of issues.
  • Resource Management: Coordinate and allocate resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to maintain project efficiency and adherence to schedules and budgets. Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks associated with project execution; implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize impacts on project timelines and budgets.
  • Quality Assurance: Oversee project quality to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and industry best practices, working closely with quality control teams. Budgeting & Cost Control: Monitor project costs, track expenditures, and implement cost-saving strategies where possible, ensuring projects are completed within budget.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor multidisciplinary project teams, fostering a collaborative, safety-conscious work environment and providing guidance on technical and project-related matters.
  • Compliance & Reporting: Ensure project activities comply with relevant regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines. Prepare and submit project status reports, including progress, financial performance, and risks, to senior management and clients.

Skills & Experience Required:

Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of civil engineering principles related to water infrastructure, including treatment facilities, pipelines, pump stations, and drainage systems. Familiarity with water industry standards and regulations, including Health & Safety and environmental compliance.

Qualifications:

Degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Chartered status or Professional Engineer certification is a plus). Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is preferred. Experience: 5+ years of project management experience in civil engineering, with a focus on water/wastewater projects. Proven track record managing large-scale projects, from conception through to completion, ideally with M&E or water utility contractors. Skills: Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and familiarity with CAD software. Exceptional planning, organizational, and analytical skills. Strong financial acumen, with experience managing budgets, forecasts, and financial performance.
